Celebration of Del Loder’s Life
Friends – it is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we let you know that Del has come to the end of his life’s journey. On Sunday, November 10th of 2019, he died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, in the company of some who loved him.
We had so hoped to gather in person to remember Del together. But he always paid attention to the safety of others and what it meant to be a good citizen. Following his example, we have decided that gathering in the Longhouse he loved to remember him is a risk to society that he would discourage.
But if we have learned anything this year, it is how to be together apart. Zoom, which used to be the sound children made when playing with toy cars, is now a part of our everyday lives. Del, television pioneer that he was, would have enjoyed having his memorial conducted on the very latest technology. The man who worked at King TV, when TV was a novelty, will be honored on the latest technology.
So we invite you to join us for a virtual memorial service on Saturday, April 24th of 2021 at 10:00 a.m Pacific.
The service will be streamed on YouTube from the DelLoder.com web site. All of Del’s friends, associates and fellow Scouters are welcome.
The service will continue to be available at YouTube on an ongoing basis, along with recorded testimonials from those who knew Del, plus other videos of interest about Del’s lifelong service to Scouting. You are welcome to subscribe to the site in advance to receive updates. We’d also love to receive your written or video memories of Del to share with others – send them to DelVideos@NSScouts.org!
