My friendship with Del was largely based on a shared enjoyment of the Northwest art’s scene. He loved lived theater best and had season tickets to most of the repertory theater in Seattle, as well as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. My earliest memories of him come from family trips to see Gilbert & Sullivan at the Bagley-Wright Theater.
