Del was one of the early employees of KING TV in Seattle, where he spent nearly all of his career. He had a front-row seat to the rise of this new medium in the growing city.

A former Boeing engineer who was hanging around with the cast of “Almost Live!” was roped into doing science experiments on the show. When those brief sketches spun into their own show, Del appeared from time to time on “Bill Nye the Science Guy.”
